Dam-Funk on Mary Anne Hobbs: Future of Modern Funk Mix
I'm well aware that this blog is threatening to turn into a Dam-Funk and Freddie Gibbs fan site. There are reasons for this beyond the payola allegations I alleged to earlier this week. Specifically, the above photo, where Dam-Funk reveals his true identity as the funk Rasputin. How am I to argue with this man? In addition to being blessed with dangerous levels of groove, he cured the hemophilia of the Tsar's son, and he cannot be killed by conventional munitions. It takes a nation of anti-tank guns to hold him down. Because Joni Mitchell never lies, I'll probably be posting up every MAH radio show until she leaves the air in September. The first show following her departure announcement features Dam dropping 45 minutes of his favorite up and coming modern funksters, including D.C. producer Oddisee, who is probably not technically a funk musician, but is theoretically, a funk musician.
