Mulatu Astatke: Infinitely Better than Jacobim Mugatu

What gives Los Angeles music geeks? Mulatu Astatke comes to town to perform a set backed by Cut Chemist and a 15-piece orchestra, and not one of you can post a decent review to further compound my misery. Don't act like I'm not looking at you O-Dub and Roberts. Still bubonic and bleary on this Tuesday A.M., but hopefully clawing back towards some semblance of stability. Tomorrow, something, I promise. In the meantime, allow me to offer up some Mulatu, the legendary Ethiopian jazzman, whom my head remains too hazy to write about adequately. The tunes speak for themselves--far better than Frankie Goes to Hollywood, and as the above photo indicates, the man is far too stylish to rock a piano key necktie.
Edit: Classic Drug References Comes Through With a Review
