Summer Mixtape: Harold Stallworth

Harold Stallworth held you down for six summers.
Last week, after many months of grueling deliberation, I finally trudged down to my leasing office and served the property manager with a notice to vacate. In the very near future, I’ll bid a fond farewell to the quaint streets of Montgomery County, to the farmers markets and grocery bag taxes. It’s off to the opposite end of District suburbia, 20 minutes south: Virginia, where all they do is cook. But don’t let the Thornton Brothers fool you. The Commonwealth is for lovers, not hustlers. In preparation for my trip across the border, I’ve pulled together the ultimate soundtrack for sultry summer nights. This mix features a dozen-odd darts plucked straight from Cupid's quiver, bookended by a pair of heartfelt rap interludes. Because nothing says unwavering love and loyalty quite like a 90s dedication track.
